Q. What is the Dress Code like at the PETRO EXPO?

Dress Code Suggestions are:

Monday evening reception: casual and patriotic.
Tuesday exhibitor set up (0800-1400): casual.
Tuesday: Grand opening and trade show (1500-1800): business casual with or without corporate logo.

Military: Uniform of the day as directed by the standards of the branch of service.

Q. What is the theme and direction for this year's PETRO 2102 EXPO?

A. This year’s theme for PETRO 2012 is “Growing the Professional Fuel Handler". NPMA’s aim has always been about elevating the education, knowledge and status of the fuel handler which will result in safer operations, higher retention rates, and more efficient petroleum operations. This year at PETRO, NPMA will roll out their online petroleum certification program, featuring an initial certification course. This coupled with educational seminars, career-broadening exposure to new innovations in petroleum operations, and an opportunity to establish professional relationships with others in the petroleum industry set the stage to make this year’s PETRO the best one yet.

Q. I think I want to become a member of the NPMA. How do I do that?

A. Go to the NPMA home web site (www.npma-fuelnet.org), and click on the Membership tab. Follow the directions to check out Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Black Gold levels of membership. The organization is a non-profit, designed for any and all levels of participation. Join up and support your NPMA!

Q. I want to get together with old friends from the military and industry. Will there be a chance to do that?

A. Certainly! The Fuelhandlers Welcome Reception/Old Timers Reunion is Monday evening, 28 May, at the Hilton Alexandria Mark Center, Terrace Ballroom, 1730-203; everyone is welcomed to join in for a wonderful evening of networking and war stories! The cover charge is $20 cash at the door; there will be beverages and plenty to eat. See the "events" tab on the PETRO website for additional information. See you there!

Q. Can I register when I get to the show?

A. Yes, you can. We strongly encourage you to pre-register because it allows us to get a better head count for events, food and beverage, and seating arrangements. It also helps speed up processing if you pre-register. We recognize that some folks have to make last minute decisions, and we'll take care of you at the front desk. See you there!

Q. Do you accept credit card payments for registration at the site?

A. Yes. We can process credit card payments at the PETRO registration area. The hotel provides an ATM service should you require cash during your stay.

Q. Can I bring my spouse to the PETRO 2012 events?

A. Absolutely! We encourage it! Go the the Registration tab on the PETRO website, and select the Spouse entry on the registration form. There is no registration fee for your spouse, and we'll have a badge waiting at the registration desk!

Q. I only have time in my schedule to come to the Expo for one day. Can I still get in?

A. Roger that! One day passes will be available to be purchased *ON SITE*. The fees for one day passes are $85 for Industry and $25 for Government and military retirees. This gets you into all Technical sessions, the Trade Show and social activities for that day.

Q. Will I owe any money if I depart earlier than the date I reserved?

A. Early Departure Fee: In the event a guest who has reserved a room within the block checks out prior to the guest's reserved checkout date, an early departure fee of $75.00 will be charged to that guest's individual account. Guests wishing to avoid this fee must advise the hotel at or before check-in.

Q. Will I be able to post a resume or a job placement add at Petro 2012?

A. Breaking news! Mr Lavin has directed that there will be a job placement board at the Petro 2102 registration area to post job positions and announcements/advertisements, as well as to post resumes for job seekers. There is no better place to network with folks that can genuinely recognize your talents. See the other FAQ's about registration if you can only come down for a day.

Q. I missed the online registration; can I still participate in Petro 2012?

A. Yes. You can register as you walk in beginning on Tuesday morning. See the Petro 2012 web site Registration and Schedule tabs for details.
