Hawthorne Services receives API award for 2010

Hawthorne Services, Inc., a government service provider located in Charleston, South Carolina, announces receipt of the prestigious 2010 American Petroleum Institute Award (API AWARD) for excellence as the sustaining base for US Army petroleum operations. This is the second time Hawthorne has received this award, the last being in 2008.

The award was given for the Hawthorne fuel operation at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. The Hawthorne team at Fort Bragg, lead by Mr. Daniel Lawson, provides all aviation fuel services at both Simmons Army Airfield and Camp Mackall Army Airfield. Services include aviation fuel storage, testing, rapid refueling, cold refueling, bulk operations and inventory management at the busy military airports.

Colonel VonHoltz of the US Army Petroleum Center said: “I applaud Hawthorne Services for their tireless efforts of support to the war fighter and the Fort Bragg community”.

Bruce Stoehr, President of Hawthorne Services said: “ The receipt of this award gives us great pleasure especially given the fact that our valued customer, US Army Aviation, is now operating under considerable pressure. We are all very proud to provide service to Army Aviation.”
