NPMA Mourns the Loss of David A. ”Tony” Custer

This year continues to be one of challenge and transition for the NPMA.  We are sad to relate the passing of Tony Custer, our long time associate and friend, he will be sorely missed.  Tony and Jack were like two peas in a pod with Tony constantly and consistently supporting the NPMA in any way needed.

Born September 25, 1945 in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late David McClintock and Winifred Blodwyn Custer.

David had a successful career as a CFO for several firms and retired in 2018. He held the position of Vice President on the board of the NPMA.

Tony was the beloved husband of Sandra J. Biesecker Custer.  He was preceded in death by his son, Sean McClintock and a father of Kimberly Wallace, Nicole Exner, Ira Custer and to his stepdaughters, Amy Mayka, Kristen Fields and Jessica Fields.  He was a grandfather to 10 grandchildren.  Tony is also survived by his two brothers, Robert and Rich Custer and Kaitlyn, his niece.

Tony loved to fish, camp, play cards and loved music and you could always find him and his son Ira listening to “tunes” daily.

There will be a private luncheon in celebration of Tony in the coming weeks.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Prostate Cancer Foundation, 1250 4th Street, Santa Monica, CA  90401.
